Singer-songwriter Christina Eltrevoog approached me after seeing my work for Katie Belle and the Belle Rangers, seeking a design that captured the folk-inspired spirit of the music festival she was organizing. I created a hand-illustrated poster that reflected the festival’s roots, along with large-format stage banners and merchandise like garments, coasters, and stickers, all designed to complement its down-to-earth, creative atmosphere.

Concepting & Implementation

The custom illustrated poster served as the centerpiece of the branding for Fresh from the Midwest. Drawing inspiration from the intricate, bold designs created for national acts like Billy Strings and Dave Matthews Band, I sought to give the festival a unique identity that stood out while embracing its folk-inspired roots. The poster design used vibrant, bold colors to evoke a sense of magic and wonder, with the venue’s natural beauty highlighted in the illustration. At the heart of the composition was a small stage nestled in an ethereal field, capturing the intimate and creative spirit of the event. To ensure the branding was cohesive, I developed the festival’s logo alongside the poster, using a hand-drawn style that mirrored the artistic and rustic nature of the festival. Together, the poster and logo provided a unified, visually striking identity that resonated with the festival’s audience and its folk heritage.
